Suunto D4


The Suunto D4 was designed with the dynamic water sports enthusiast in mind, the Suunto D4 is an advanced wristop dive computer with intelligent free diving features. Constructed from lightweight, composite material, the Suunto D4 features a modernized and sleek design. The Suunto D4 is the introductory model in the Suunto diving line.

  • The D4 has three dive modes, including a dedicated fredive mode
  • The D4 has continuous decompression with the Suunto RGBM algotithm.
  • An optional PC interface cable allows you to upload data to a desktop or laptop computer, enabling you to maintain a highly detailed dive log.

What Does It Need?

Normal service on this model involves periodic battery replacement. Indications that it is time for battery replacement include:

  • A “low battery” indicator appears, as covered in the Owners Manual.
  • The computer was functioning properly when last used; however, after a period of inactivity, it simply will not turn on.
  • The computer will turn on but shuts down shortly afterward, or displays erroneous information.

The cost for battery replacement, including parts and labor, is US$55 plus return shipping costs.


Every two years or 200 dives (whichever comes first), Suunto strongly recommends a bi-annual service that includes:

  • Complete disassembly of the D4.
  • Careful cleaning of all surfaces that may have been exposed to water.
  • Battery replacement.
  • Replacement and lubrication of O-rings, gaskets and several screws.
  • Reassembly and pressure testing.

The cost for this bi-annual service is US$140 plus return shipping. (Authorized Aqua Lung dealers should consult their Dealer Manual for pricing information.)

More extensive problems may require additional parts and labor — or even replacement. If this is the case, we will contact you with an estimate of the total cost and ask for your approval before continuing.
